means ‘light’ and we think it is the perfect name for our cottage in Hobart, situated in historic Battery Point, Hobart – the capital city of Tasmania.
Eibhlin is a lovely comfortable family home of very high quality furnishings and ambience which we hope you will see in the following pictures. We like to maintain it to a high standard and hope that our guests appreciate the care we take.
The ‘Blue Room’ is two wonderful dormer windows facing north and south, with sun all day and views over the bay. The room contains a large French double bed decorated with Laura Ashley soft blue linen. There’s also a lovely French provincial desk for you to write your postcards and letters or (sadly…) work on your computer.
Again, the ‘Sage’ room has sun streaming through the windows in the morning with more views over the bay. It contains two king single beds that will zip together to make a king bed. (This must be requested on booking).
The ‘sepia’ bedroom holds a queenside bed, bedside table, wardrobes, tallboy, and lamps. The bed is bespoke iron bed, with a wonderfully comfortable sealy posturepaedic mattress. All linen provided.
Fantastic for entertaining the major living room is large, light and airy, with a loungeroom, and open plan kitchen and dining areas. If you can stop looking at the glorious view from the back deck. The lounge has wonderfully comfortable Ralph Lauren leather sofa and chair with matching cushions and throws. It’s the perfect spot for an evening drink while catching up with the day’s news. There’s a television and DVD player, music stereo system, There’s a table and chairs for six, with great views through the windows over to Wrest Point Casino – which looks magical at night.

On entry level there is also a large family bathroom that contains a spa bath, separate shower, toilet, basin and hairdryer. There is also a separate powder room.
Cooking and entertaining are all catered for in this well equipped kitchen. The kitchen is light and bright with plenty of storage with a 4 hob electric stove and oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, extractor fan, and a sparkling refrigerator that will keep your Tasmanian whites nice and cool.
